One of the most reliable ways companies solve issues with shared resources is by having them booked out through a dedicated calendar. Reserving a space is much simpler than having two groups show up at the same time competing for meeting rooms, company cars, or shared equipment.
These calendars for Shared Resources can now be used as migration sources and destinations, and all it takes is refreshing or creating a new Google Workspace connection.
What are Shared Resource calendars?
In Google Workspace, when you create a company resource like a company car, meeting room, or a really cool robot suit, a calendar gets created to go along with it to schedule usage of it. And now with Movebot's new update, you can migrate to and from those calendars the same as any other type of calendar. This means no more having to remake and rebook existing appointments, and users can migrate shared calendars without being tied down to the old implementation or starting from scratch.

How to add Shared Resource calendars to Movebot
You'll need to add a new Google Workspace connection or refresh your existing connection with new scopes to migrate Shared Resources.
We recommend having Movebot remake the service account and include the required scopes to make sure everything is included. For steps on how to do this, see delegating domain-wide authority.
With a refreshed connection, Shared Resource Calendars will now appear for the associated organization's account when migrating calendars.
Setting up Shared Resource calendar migrations
To migrate to or from a calendar for a Shared Resource, do a Google Workspace migration and make sure Calendars is selected.
When you get to the stage for mapping a specific transfer, choose Folder to Folder or CSV Upload. For either method, resource calendars will be denoted by the prefix of the email address.
For example, if you have a Projector room resource, check the Resource email in the Google Workspace Admin console and take note of the email prefix, typically something like c_18039209q0asjkladjg@resource.calendar.google.com. The "c_18039209q0asjkladjg" is the prefix that will be grabbed and displayed in Movebot to identify the specific resource.
Once you know what prefix goes to your target resource, you can map the folder with that prefix to move the data wherever you want, whether it's another resource calendar or user calendar in the same or a different organization.
